About me

Bitterroot River, Montana

I grew up in the Colorado mountains, where I learned to love both the outdoors and public lands. After college, I went to work for the National Park Service, and later, the US Fish & Wildlife Service and Forest Service. Along the way I held a variety of jobs: dispatcher, seasonal patrol ranger, technical writer and editor, and writer/analyst. As my career progressed, I spent more time writing, but it was always for the public domain in the voice of the government. Eventually I left the feds to raise my kids and started writing under my own name. I now live with my family in Montana.
